To Eva Diana, an emerging Sydney-based artist, this quote is a constant reminder that trying and failing is better than letting fear win. With that in mind she is putting her perfectionist tendencies aside and finally releasing her debut EP later this year. Entirely self-written, produced and recorded, with the help of Sarah Belkner and Simon Greaves as her mentors, it is a body of work that encompasses themes of people-pleasing and anxiety. Her music is a mix of pop, folk and singer-songwriter genres, and she is heavily influenced by the Americana scene in the U.S., combining country and rock to tell unique stories. Eva has completed her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she expanded her songwriting and production skills and recorded her upcoming EP as a part of her final assessment. Prior to this, she grew up by the beach in Byron Bay, where she developed her performance skills and a deep appreciation for the environment. Eva has performed numerous times at venues in Sydney, such as the Vanguard, Lazybones, Waywards, and many more, with her current focus on releasing original music.
